● Part 1.
New Energy Vehicle Charging Dilemma
Charging, is the daily routine of every new energy vehicle owner. As a new type of clean, energy-saving transportation, new energy electric vehicles have become a popular choice for modern transportation development around the world. With the support of national policies, as of 2021, China has 7.84 million new energy vehicles and 2.617 million charging piles, with a vehicle-pile ratio of 3:1. New energy vehicle registrations are growing beyond expectation, but the charging and replenishment segments have not fully kept up with the status quo. Therefore, the general environment has caused difficulties in charging new energy vehicles. In addition, the uneven growth of new energy vehicles has also exacerbated the charging problem. Sales data of first three quarters in 2021 show that East China and South China take the first and the second places, Central China and North China alternate in the third and fourth place. These four regions accounted for more than 70%-80% of national sales. East China accounts for more than 40% of the sales. Such an uneven distribution means that the new energy vehicle service system, represented by charging resources, also faces the problem of uneven distribution of resources.
SOLUTION:
a. Increase the number of charging piles
b. Pile Network Synergy
The "Guidance on Accelerating the Construction of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure" issued by the Chinese government in 2015 proposed that the vehicle-pile ratio should be 1:1 by 2030. 80 million electric vehicles are estimated to be produced by 2030, and according to the vehicle-pile ratio of 1:1 and the public pile penetration rate of 37.7%, RUNTO Technology estimates that about 80 million charging piles are needed, of which about 30 million are public charging piles.

For charging pile operators, it is important to ensure that all stations are effectively used in order to avoid losses. The uncertainty of EV owners' car using behavior and charging time as well as charging space distribution makes EV charging more random. This disorderly charging behavior will increase the difficulty of operation and maintenance management in the charging pile industry.
In addition, vehicle owners want a seamless charging experience to avoid long queues. As more and more charging piles are built, smart charging piles that have both energy and digital attributes and integrate communication technology, digital technology, and energy internet technology are becoming a demand for operators.
