On May 8, 2021, the inauguration ceremony of Shanghai Electronic Circuit Intelligent Protection Engineering Technology Research Center (hereinafter referred to as "Engineering Technology Center") and the theme exchange forum of "Circuit Core Protection, Power Core Journey" were successfully held in Shanghai.

The Engineering Technology Center was jointly established by Wayon Electronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "WAYON"), the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(SIC.CAS), and the Shanghai Research Institute of Materials（SRIM），It is the first scientific research institution in the Chinese industry to focus on the intelligent protection of electronic circuits. The scientific research institution (provincial and ministerial level) is an important part of Shanghai's science and technology innovation system. The Engineering Technology Center has a high-level engineering technology research and development team and complete engineering comprehensive supporting conditions, and possesses technological innovation, achievement transformation and industry service capabilities.

The Engineering Technology Center will aim at "international products replacement" and "technology leadership" in the field of intelligent protection of electronic circuits. It will focus on key basic materials and integrated circuit technology, component structure design and process development, provide professional technical services in the field of electronic information, and explore 5G communication equipment, artificial intelligence, IoT equipment, new energy, smart terminals, and automotive electronics are represented by the electronic information field to provide integrated solutions for intelligent protection, form independent core technology and engineering capabilities, and practice "industrial collaborative innovation and technology development joint" mechanism. This model promotes the enhancement of the strength of China’s electronic circuit intelligent protection components in the global information industry competition.

Ms. Zhang Jie, director of Shanghai Research Institute of Materials(SRIM), Ms. Yan Jina, member of Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, and Mr. Hou Jinbao, Secretary-General of Electronic Protection Components Branch of China Electronic Components Industry Association, attended the meeting and delivered speeches for the establishment of the Engineering Technology Center.
